We take great pride at Skibbereen Retirement Village in enhancing the quality of life for those in our Residential Care Centre. For us, the focus is always on the person, on individuality, privacy, and dignity.

There are many practical ways, big and small, in which we put this philosophy of care into action.

Our Residential Care Centre, for instance, has been designed and built with the needs of our residents in mind, creating a perfect harmony between communal living and privacy. Our staffing arrangements ensure that each resident gets proper individual care, and our  qualified staff are always ready to cater for any special needs, either medical or personal.

Above all, we aim to make sure that the centre is a hive of activity, with plenty of pursuits, from quizzes to concerts and bingo to dancing, arranged on a daily basis.

Our relationship with the relatives of our residents is also very important for us. We encourage relatives to visit as often as they can (there is no such thing as visiting hours) and we work in partnership with them, always listening and taking into account their views on the needs of their loved one.
