Our Home provides an excellent balance between communal and private living. We believe that preserving a resident’s privacy is critical, and each member of staff regards a resident’s room as his or her own private domain.
Our Residential Care Centre, situated on the Baltimore Road in Skibbereen, opened in 2004, and was especially designed to provide a homely and secure environment for our residents.
The building is pleasantly spacious with lots of natural light, and there is a well-cultivated garden where residents can sit and relax or put their green fingers to use, as well as a very attractive internal atrium garden.
Each resident has his or her own private bedroom with an en-suite bathroom. All the rooms are fitted with their own TV/Internet access and a direct-dial telephone.
Other facilities include a physiotherapy room, a hydrotherapy bath, a library, a televsion room, a large lounge, a hairdressing salon, and an oratory, where services of different faiths are held.

We cater for the individual needs of each resident – an essential aspect of the caring process. We endeavour to match the ideal staff member to each resident, to cater for preferences for male or female, quiet or lively, casual or formal.
Daily routines are carried out at the resident’s pace, with the emphases on maximizing personal control, enabling choice and respect for dignity. By taking the time to get to know each of our residents, we cultivate a friendly and happy atmosphere that residents, relatives and staff alike warm to right away.
